Cosmetology Program

Cosmetologists provide personal care services that include caring for people’s hair, skin, and nails. Beauty professionals employed in the cosmetology industry include hair stylists, barbers, and estheticians, also called skin care specialists. Our 28 credit (1000 hours) Cosmetology program offers comprehensive training in nails, skin, and hair with an emphasis in cosmetic treatments to improve the health and appearance of skin and hair including:
  • Presentations on mannequin 
  • Practical cut, color and blow-out sessions
  • Combining classic manicure + pedicure protocols
  • Classic LASH outline techniques and lecture
  • Theory and Milady CIMA lecture
  • Freehand Beauty shows (self-reliant day)
  • Suitability TDLR practical & written state board exam routines
  • Introduction to savvy business ideas

Permanent Makeup

Our 4-day Permanent Makeup training workshop at the Dallas Skin Institute will teach you the fundamentals of permanent cosmetics. New students learn all that’s needed to start a career in the profitable industry of permanent makeup. Gain hands-on practice with live models and practice skin. You’ll learn guidelines for sanitization, effective anesthetic techniques, intricacies of eyebrow shaping and coloring, solving lip shape concerns, color theory and pigment usage, and color mixing.

Requirements

The following serves as your application for The Dallas Skin Institute.

    • Paragraph 1 – about yourself; 

    • Paragraph 2 – why did you choose DSI and what you want to do as an Esthetician);
  • 2 Recommendation letter (non-relatives only)
  • 3 Passport size photos (Your face only, no full body)

MyCAA

Are you a military spouse? Great news! DSI's Cosmetology & Esthetician programs offered at the Dallas campus are approved for the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship.

The MyCAA scholarship program provides up to $4,000 for eligible military spouses in the pursuit or maintenance of a license, certification, or associate's degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field.
